‘wondrous the forms, wondrous all the hues… wondrous this earth, wondrous its species…’ GURU GRANTH SAHIB

‘The miracle of miracles of the janamsakhis: they shift the attention from the extraordinary power of Guru Nanak to empowering the audience as they put us in touch with our true self in our everyday rhythms of ordinary life. Whatever their moral, chimeric, devotional or aetiological impulse be, they orient us to a powerful ontological experience in this very temporal world of ours. Aural, literal, and/or illustrated, the janamsakhis hone the sensuous quintet belonging to every being… such that it develops into the five virtues specified by Guru Nanak as truth, contentment, compassion, righteousness, and patience.’
