While I deeply respect having a book on sex, discovering sexuality and the things that aren’t very well communicated between partners or parents-kids, what is problematic is the way this book subtly favours feminism. While the author’s views are personal but when discussing about consent, it was the feminine consent which was talked about and no mention for the masculine consent was made (I assume the author strictly believes in the penal laws of our country in a way to presume that men cannot be raped). Although I have found this book extremely helpful and insightful, I’d request the author to keep this in her mind while attempting to write her next book to present a more gender-neutral view and maybe attract more readers over understanding the nuances of how complex the human biology is.

Sex is as much a part of our lives as anything else and navigating through sex and sexuality without the right information or direction can be oh so dangerous. Schools teach us next to nothing regarding sex and most of us enter adulthood with raging hormones and not the right idea about what to do with them. Learning mainly about reproduction is not even close to enough. We absolutely have to get an in depth understanding of our sexual organs, our sexuality, pleasure, consent, sexual health etc which is EXACTLY what this book does. Leeza has done such a fabulous job in creating a way through which we can develop a comfortable relationship with ourselves and our partners. I will be gifting my 13 year old sister this book because I want her to grow up to be a well informed person who is in touch with her sexuality and safely enjoys sex whenever she feels the right will be right for her. So excited that finally there are books like these that can create the right impact. You’re an absolute star Leeza. ♥️

The sex ed we never had!The sex book by Leeza Mangaldas is an informative and engaging read that reminds us of the oppressive and limiting framework of sex education that we’re existing in. It breaks myths about sex that we’re still living with (Duh. It’s 2022).Though these stigmas are internalised in our lives since birth that it might be difficult to completely get rid of them but we can always break the cycle and be the change. If you’re intending to be a sex positive person this is a perfect book to start with. It’s written in a simple language and educates us on basic things that we’re tooo shy to talk about. I liked everything about this book except that it felt a bit repetitive to me. Rest was good.

This book has helped me recognise how much shame we internalise around sex and how life changing it is to overcome that shame. so much knowledge and information in this book, it answers virtually every question you would have about sex in a scientific way while also giving the overarching message that everyone of every gender deserves joy and freedom and kindness and pleasure. Best book. Truly.
